BizJet International, a leading engine maintenance service provider in the United States and subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, has officially rebranded as Lufthansa Technik Engine Services (LTES). This rebranding aligns the Tulsa-based company with Lufthansa Technik’s global brand, reflecting its expanded role in the Americas and reinforcing its position within the global network of Lufthansa Technik. 

Established in 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, BizJet quickly earned a reputation as a trusted provider in the corporate aviation sector. After joining the Lufthansa Technik Group in 2000, the company significantly expanded its capabilities and became part of a global service network. A major milestone came in 2004, when BizJet updated its facility to support Rolls-Royce engine lines, specifically the Tay 611-8 and -8C engines used in Gulfstream IV and 450 aircraft. The addition of fully digital test cells along with their experienced personnel has positioned BizJet as a key player for Tay engine services. In 2016, BizJet also became part of Lufthansa Technik’s Mobile Engine Services (MES) network, extending its services to include maintenance for commercial aircraft engines. The Mobile Engine Services network provides on-site engine maintenance and repair solutions, helping to minimize downtime. The Tulsa facility is equipped to repair and test engines such as the V2500, CFM56-5B and most recently CFM56-7B thanks to its upgraded test cells. 

“With over 650 full engine overhauls and more than 600 Mobile Engine Services events, we have accomplished much, but there is still more to come,” said Michael Scheferhoff, the newly appointed CEO of Lufthansa Technik Engine Services. “Leveraging the strength of the Lufthansa Technik brand will help us strengthen our presence and solidify our ambitions in both the corporate and commercial engine services markets. Expanding our market share in the Americas also means growing the Tulsa facility, which is now the second-largest repair station in Lufthansa Technik’s global Mobile Engine Services network.” 

Michael Scheferhoff, who most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Operations Americas at Lufthansa Technik Component Services, took over as President and CEO of Lufthansa Technik Engine Services on 1 October 2024. He succeeds Thomas Illner, who was appointed Managing Director and Head of Region Americas at Lufthansa Technik Component Services. 

Lufthansa Technik Engine Services will be joining Lufthansa Technik at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) from 22 to 24 October 2024, in Las Vegas, where the company will showcase its full range of services for corporate jets.
