Lufthansa Technik and Avianca collaborate on digital transformation
Avianca partners with Lufthansa Technik to take full advantage of the Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem as the first customer in the Americas. The Colombian airline and flydocs, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, inked a new agreement aimed at digitizing the records and asset management of Avianca’s fleet through the flydocs software. By adopting all three core solutions within Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem, Avianca will benefit from comprehensive data coverage along the entire value stream in technical operations.
Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem is built on three core pillars: AMOS, the world-leading M&E (Maintenance and Engineering) as well as MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) software, AVIATAR, the independent platform for data and analytics solutions, and flydocs, the provider of digital records and asset management solutions. These three entities operate independently but work together to integrate their modular solutions, using a customer-focused and collaborative approach. The Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem is designed to improve process efficiency and lower the cost of technical operations. It enhances operational stability, increases aircraft availability and optimizes asset value throughout the entire life and lease cycles.
After using AVIATAR’s Condition Monitoring for almost two years, Avianca recently decided to also implement AVIATAR’s Predictive Health Analytics. In addition, the Latin American airline has completed its migration to the AMOS cloud in early 2024. With the decision to adopt flydocs’ digital records management software alongside AMOS and AVIATAR, Avianca is now the first airline in the Americas leveraging Lufthansa Technik’s comprehensive digital ecosystem suite.
“Thanks to the integrated work offered by Lufthansa Technik’s Tech Ops Ecosystem, we now have a complete digital environment that provides a solution to the needs of an airline the size of Avianca, while allowing us to continue generating efficiencies, reducing our cost structure and optimizing both aircraft availability and value. We are very proud to be the first airline in the region to take advantage of these benefits together,” stated Francisco Lalinde, Vice President of Engineering and Maintenance at Avianca.
“We are committed to supporting Avianca every step of the way in advancing its digitalization efforts and optimizing technical operations,” said Robin Johansson, Senior Director Sales for Latin America at Lufthansa Technik. “The Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem is unique in the aviation industry because it provides end-to-end coverage of technical operations, integrating maintenance software, real-time analytics, and digital records management ‒ all under one framework.”
